Partner UKa at the NT26 in Berlin

2D-PRINTABLE partner Claudia Backes (UKa) participated in the 26th International Conference on the Science and Applications of Nanotubes and Low-Dimensional Materials (NT26), held in Berlin from 23–28 August 2026. The conference brought together around 400 registered participants from the international low-dimensional materials research community.

Claudia Backes was among the conference’s keynote speakers, delivering the keynote “Progress and challenges in liquid exfoliation and processing of 2D materials”. Her talk addressed recent advances and remaining challenges in the liquid-phase exfoliation and processing of 2D materials, with a focus on scalable approaches for producing high-quality nanosheets.

In addition to her keynote contribution, Claudia Backes co-chaired the Macromaterials Symposium, which focused on thin films, fibres, 3D materials and their properties.

These contributions highlighted key research areas closely aligned with the objectives of 2D-PRINTABLE, particularly the scalable processing, manufacturing and application of two-dimensional materials.

Participation at NT26 provided an opportunity to present the latest research, exchange knowledge with the international 2D-materials community, and strengthen scientific collaborations.
