UKa’s publication on reproducible analysis of 2D nanomaterials

Our partner from UKa has recently published an article titled: “Algorithm for Reproducible Analysis of Semiconducting 2D Nanomaterials Based on UV-Vis Spectroscopy published in Advanced Materials Interfaces. The article presents a new program that has been developed to improve the analysis of liquid dispersions of 2D materials. Existing UV-VIS extinction spectroscopy-based methods show promise but often rely on manual data processing, which can introduce variability and user-dependent errors. The newly introduced software applies a smoothing routine to spectral data, calculates the second derivative, and uses integral areas to identify wavelengths of exciton transitions. This approach enables reliable measurements of nanosheet concentration, length, and thickness. The program is designed to easily incorporate metrics for new materials in the future. Freely available, the software ensures uniform analysis across laboratories, supporting the standardization of measurements in 2D materials research.

Congratulations to UKa on this remarkable achievement!
